The Pre-production process begins with training needs analysis (if required) - the outcome is the basis for the solution to your performance needs.

Concept development is next - this is the process of resolving client aims and expectations within physical limitations such as delivery medium, budget and time frame. This is where FutureTrain's experience and creative flair can help, because the best solution in terms of learning outcomes may not be the most expensive. Many factors will come into play, including what you are trying to achieve, the environment for hardware and software, project goals and the profile of the target audience.

Instructional design - the principle aim of training solutions is the effective transfer of information. FutureTrain's focus is on using the medium to its best advantage to produce measurable learning outcomes. The staff at FutureTrain are experienced in instructional design for conventional training, online eLearning and multimedia. With this background comes a clear understanding of how best to maximise knowledge transfer. We do this by ensuring that the appropriate learning methodology for the target group is utilised. The design is recorded as scripts and storyboards - so clients are able to see what is going to be delivered.

Graphic design - one of the first things to draw people to any resource is how it looks, the functionality it provides and how intuitive it is to use. FutureTrain specialises in designing attractive and user-friendly graphical treatments for eLearning. Whether the client needs a design which complements their current corporate look, or an entirely original concept, FutureTrain will utilise creative treatments that are not only instructionally sound but match the client's design brief.

Authoring - this is the process of building the software framework for the eLearning or multimedia program and populating it with content. With our intimate knowledge of the production process and our experience with the various delivery modes, we can match the client's needs to the production and delivery medium that best suits the specifications, project complexity, delivery schedule and budget. We only use standards-based authoring and delivery formats - no proprietary software.

Sound, animation and video - FutureTrain utilises industry professionals to produce the resources for each multimedia resource. The services include sound recording, video production (including vignettes), digitising and editing of audio and video, custom 2D and 3D animation, and complex 3D modelling.

Warranty - FutureTrain provides a 12 month warranty on every product we deliver.

Updates and maintenance - we support our clients in however they wish to update and maintain the products we build. This includes advice on the best approach for them, features that simplify their own in-house updating, training of selected in-house staff if required and, of course, the provision of ongoing maintenance services on request.
